Enjoy a special experience at the restaurant of “On The Borderr”

A chain of Tex-Mex food of the restaurants “On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina” is located in many countries where includes the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea as well. Founded in 1982, the restaurant has its own feature, the famous dishes include guacamole, fajitas, and margaritas…etc.

This is my pleasure to try one of them in South Korea last week, situated on Itaewon (이태원) that near the subway station. The restaurant is quite big where can fill in a hundred guests a time. Moreover, a part from typical bar table, high chair tables and normal dinner tables also includes in the restaurant which means it can fit on multi functions. Sure you can find a comfortable seat to satisfy your need.

Before starting the meal or drink, each table serves palm size crispy tostadas chips that goes with slightly sour cream sauce. When tapped it, you also can taste a tiny spicy on your mouth that really help to increase your appetite.

Appetizers

We had ordered Taco Salad with beef, actually you can also choice shrimp or chicken with it, I can say the king size salad really match American style that carried with tortilla shell; inside with sour cream, pico de gallo and the shop’s best tableside – guacamole goes with different type of vegetables, if you like avocado you will like this salad – a healthy selection.

Fajita Grill

After salad, then try The Ultimate Fajita, as their best is Fajita, we picked the mixed one where includes chicken, steak and shrimp on a hot iron skillet. To our surprise the main course served with three more dishes, you can prepare what you like above the fresh tortilla and then roll it up before tasting it. As the restaurant insisted to use fresh produce for their food, from sautéed shrimp, mesquite-grilled steak and chicken you can feel how fresh and juicy they are.

 

Drink

The popular drink on this restaurant is margaritas; normally margaritas will be with alcohol, but here you can select the fruit margaritas under non-alcoholic. For me, strawberry margaritas are the best as I like strawberry, mango margaritas is also not bad at all, of course there also have another for you to order, such raspberry, peach, cranberry, and ginger lime. After a few drops of lemon juice, taste like magic and 540ml schooner size looks not enough for me.

The expression from its beautiful display and delicious taste, not to mention its size. Also it is rather match Asian’s taste I believe. That is why the restaurant can be opened one after one from United States and spread to wide world.

Although the English menu mixed with Spanish but it is not hard to read. It shows quite clear with the course with star for border best 6, border favorite, and hot dish as well. So even you do not know well about the name of the food you can order the right one you want.
