MISO “beautiful smile”
Miso, a Korean word that means “beautiful smile”. It is a Korean Traditional Arts Performance.It is fun and artistically delightful performance. The first performance were played of Love Songs from Chunhyang in 2010 and starting from April 2014, Jeongdong Theater presents its new performance Miso: Baebijang-jeon and set a new record of one million spectators.
The performance combine of traditional and modern sensibility with dance and singing which will definitely capture the attention of all the audience not only Koreans but also foreigners like me as well who loves musical performances.The whole production is perfect from the background, to the music, the cast (all of them are handsome and pretty!!!), and the colorful and vibrant costumes used in the play. The dancing and choreography are excellent.
Although non-verbal, there was a large monitor to the side of the stage that gave a short description of each scene in English, Chinese, and Japanese. Honestly, had no need for any of these languages since their expressions and moves told the whole story. After the show, you can take pictures together with the cast as souvenir for free. The majority of the audience appeared to be Korean and we felt as if we were privileged to enjoy a local happening.
Show time is 1 hour and 20 mins
If this is the only cultural show you are able to watch during your first visit to Korea, I don't think you will be disappointed. Well worth a visit. It is a MUST-SEE performance when you go to Seoul.
